Connemara Tour

Connemara in many ways can be the antithesis of The Burren.  The barren landscape is replaced by green mountains, sloping valleys with lakes, bog lands and streams.  Here you will see how Ireland is often described as a land made up of forty shades of green.

If you choose this tour you will be picked up at your accommodation and you will travel out of Galway City westwards on to Connemara.  You will be brought to places like Oughterard, St. Brigit's Gardens and on to the village of Leenane featured in the film 'The Field'.  Your journey will continue on to Killary Harbour, the location of Ireland's only fjord and then you will travel to Kylemore Abbey, described as the Fairytale School.

You will then visit Clifden, the capital of the region and while you are there you will be taken on a trip along the Sky Road to sample the stunning scenery along the western seaboard.  Your journey will then bring you on to Ballyconneely, a location famous for its links golf course and then on to the scenic village of Roundstone.  Whilst in the region you can also visit the Connemara National Park and Museum.

Along the journey there will be ample photo opportunities to capture the beauty of this appealing region and there will be opportunities also to sample some local cuisine and maybe a pint of Guinness and/or an Irish Coffee on route.
